Christmas Prophecy 13

The Messiah would be silent before His accusers.

Prophecy -

Isaiah 53:7
He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.

Fulfillment -

Matthew 27:12
And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.

Why was Jesus silent? He was falsely accused, He had committed no crime. Even the so-called witnesses that were brought in couldn't get their stories about Him straight. So why didn't He defend Himself?

He couldn't. He was standing there in OUR place, and YOU AND I are guilty! We deserve death. But the good news is that He took the punishment on Himself, so that we don't have to. Will you accept what He has done for you?
